Ex-NHL player Theo Fleury hit the rink as a rookie with the Calgary Flames in 1989 and won a Stanley Cup. Later, he captured Gold with the men’s hockey team at the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah. He also played right wing with the New York Rangers, the Chicago Blackhawks, and the Colorado Avalanche. Through most of his career, Fleury suffered from drug and alcohol addictions, along with sexual abuse from former hockey coach Graham James. He overcame those obstacles. And since retiring in 2009, he’s become an advocate for sexual abuse victims, an inspirational speaker, and a best-selling author. For his work, Fleury has received the Canadian Humanitarian Award and The Queen’s Jubilee Medallion. He is married to his second wife and has four children.

“I love what I’m driving right now. I had a BMW and I thought it was okay. I owned a Mercedes and it was okay. I love my Ford products – they’ve served me well. I would compare the MKS, the car i’m driving now, to the 740 BMW — It’s got all the same bells and whistles and it’s $70,000 less! It does exactly the same thing. Maybe it’s a bit faster, but there is a speed limit,” says the 46-year-old who was born in Oxbow, Sask. and raised in Russell, Man.
