Lamborghini’s raging bull is driving into the Canadian marketplace at full force. The exotic luxury Italian brand opened its fourth dealership in Canada —Lamborghini Calgary —adding to its global network, which spans 50 countries.
To mark the milestone, Stephan Winkelmann, Automobili Lamborghini’s President and CEO, joined the grand opening celebrations, along with dealer principal Asgar Virji and nearly 200 Lamborghini enthusiasts on July 2, 2015.
“With a fourth showroom in Canada, we not only position ourselves to better serve existing owners, but to advance our strengthening position in the future,” said Winkelmann.
Also on display inside the dealership at the new Meadows Mile luxury auto mall was Lamborghini’s most impressive model to date: the 2016 Aventador LP750-4 Superveloce — which means superfast in English.
At the heart is Lamborghini’s most powerful V-12 engine, which pumps out 750 hp and 509 lb-ft. of torque. It’ll hit 0-100 kms in only 2.8 seconds enroute, to a top speed of more than 350 km/hr. Only 600 of these vehicles are up for grabs globally.
The price tag is steep at $528,927. But this hasn’t kept Canadians away from the iconic brand. It was a record year for Lamborghini in Canada in 2014 – sales doubled from 52 in 2013 to 110 in 2014.
Lamborghini’s three other dealerships in Canada are in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. Virji also runs the Lamborghini Vancouver showroom.
