AutoCanada to acquire Don Folk Chevrolet

AutoCanada-DonFolk-300AutoCanada Inc. is continuing its western expansion by adding Don Folk Chevrolet, a Kelowna B.C.-based dealership, into its fold.

The acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to close within 30 days.

Don Folk Chevrolet operates a facility which includes a 15 car showroom,14 service bays and six detail bays. In 2014, the dealership retailed 452 new vehicles and 304 used.

AutoCanada also added the acquisition will include all assets of Don Folk Autobody, the dealership’s standalone autobody shop.

We would also like to thank General Motors of Canada for their continued support,” said Pat Priestner, Executive Chair for AutoCanada Inc., in a written release.

In AutoCanada’s second quarter conference call to investors, Tom Orysiuk, the group’s president and Chief Executive Officer, said, “Our acquisition activity has really picked up over the last couple of months.” He added the group has completed 11 acquisitions since the beginning of 2015.

Priestner also commented on the company’s current and future acquisition activities: “We really like Western Canada, obviously.”
