FCA Canada has re-entered the leasing market with a new lease program launched at seven of its dealerships near Windsor, Ont.
The pilot program is a joint effort by FCA Canada and Markham, Ont.-based SCI Lease Corp., an independent, Canadian-based national automotive leasing company.
“The program is designed to meet the needs of their dealer network and greatly assist consumers and their automotive financing needs,” said Alan Bird, President & Chief Executive Leader for SCI Lease Corp., in an interview with Canadian auto dealer.
The two companies will provide the leasing option to customers on all new Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Fiat and Alfa Romeo vehicles.
Bird said FCA dealers have been receptive to the new program.
“FCA Canada dealers are excited to be back in the leasing business and ecstatic to be able to provide smart new options for their customer to acquire their vehicles.”
FCA Canada and SCI Lease Corp. said they will be monitoring the pilot phase of the program closely, which was launched in November. Within the next few weeks, they plan to expand across Ontario and then aggressively expand to all of Canada by the beginning of 2016.
“We developed a great relationship with SCI Lease Corp. and feel with their expertise it’s the right time to re-enter the leasing market,” said Dave Buckingham, COO of FCA Canada.
This is FCA Canada’s first lease program since the financial crisis in 2008.
