Leggat Chevrolet Cadillac Buick GMC of Burlington, ON, has kicked off its second annual ‘Hands of Hope’ contest – a unique promotional event that spotlights the dealership while giving back to the community in a really fun way.
In essence, it’s a contest to see who can keep a hand on a car the longest. The winner will drive away with a fully certified, fully gassed, fully licenced vehicle with an approximate retail value of $8,000! Although only one fortunate contestant will win the car, each of the ten persons selected to participate will be presented with great prize packages courtesy of local businesses.
Leggat’s established the "Hands of Hope Contest" last year, “to recognize outstanding efforts displayed in today’s youth and enable Leggat's and our loyal suppliers to provide back into our community in a really fun way!” says Shawn Alam, the store’s sales manager.
”We are very proud to annouce this years contest will now include the participation of McMaster University, along with Sheridan College and Mohawk Colege,” he adds.
Students from these three schools can enter by sending an e-mail to the dealership, before 12 PM on February 9, describing what accomplishments and contributions they have made for their school or community. Ten lucky contestants will selected from those applicants, to begin the ‘Hands of Hope Contest’ at 11 AM on Friday, February 19th. Each participant will place his or her hand on the car and the contest will continue until February 20th, or until the last hand is left on the car!
“We have created an inspirational traditon which we hope to carry on for many years to come,” says Alam. “We generated a great response from the community and received many contributions from our suppliers and the Leggat family, so each of the 10 finalist will leave the contest with a great assortment of gifts and the recognition and appreciation that they so deserve for their contributions.”
The event will also mark the 30th anniversary of Leggat's annual Indoor Sale.
